For more powerful performance and more powerful towing capabilities, the new 2.4L turbocharged BOXER engine delivers with 260 horsepower and a max towing ability of 3,500 lbs. It is safe to say that one thing that will never change about the Subaru Outback is standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for superior traction, control, and stability at all times.

 

The Outback also comes standard with X-Mode and Hill Descent Control for enhanced performance on low-friction surfaces and off-road adventures. The special edition Outback Onyx trim level is designed for big adventures and is equipped with a special dual-function X-Mode with selectable driving modes to tailor performance to the terrain with deep snow, mud, and dirt settings.

 

Interior Space & Features

While the new Outback boasts a rough and rugged exterior look that screams adventure, the inside of the new Outback is luxurious and modern. Athens, OH drivers will have 109 cubic feet of spacious seating for five passengers with available reclining second-row seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. With the seats up the Outback has 32.5 cubic feet of cargo space for everyone's belongings and up to  75.7 cubic feet of maximum space for whatever life throws your way. There is also standard roof rails with built-in crossbars that make attaching roof racks and cargo boxes a breeze and when you don't need the crossbars they fold easily away.

 

In addition to being well-equipped for every adventure the new Outback is bursting with the latest connective multimedia features. The standard STARLINK multimedia that includes Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, dual front USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen display. The STARLINK multimedia plus system that is on the Premium and up trim levels includes a new 11.6-inch touchscreen, dual front and rear USB ports, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity.

 

Advanced Subaru Safety

There is no shortage of advanced safety features on the new Subaru Outback. The latest version of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology now includes Lane Centering in the Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control in addition to Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management. A new safety feature of the Outback is Subaru DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System that will alert the driver to bring their attention back to the road ahead when they exhibit signs of distracted or drowsy driving. Another package of safety features that the Outback is available with is STARLINK Safety & Security which includes Automatic Collision Notification and SOS Emergency Assist.
